Romany Shaker

Research Analyst

Biography:

Romany Shaker is a research analyst and Arabic language specialist at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. His research focuses on domestic and regional politics, as well as extremist and terrorist groups, in both MENA and the Gulf. Previously, Romany worked with the Middle East Broadcasting Networks (MBN) and he has experience with translating, writing, and media analysis and countering violent extremism. Romany earned his B.A. in English Literature in Egypt, received a media translation certificate from the American University in Cairo, and has lived in Cairo and Doha.
