Barckly General Trading Company


According to Barckly General Trading Company, Barckly has a number of Iranian clients affiliated with the Iranian energy and construction sector including, the Iranian Fuel Conservation Organization (IFCO), the Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC), the Iran Shipbuilding and Offshore Industries Complex (ISOICO), and Tamkar Gas Equipment Company (TGEC) (Barckly General Trading Company, accessed July 26, 2013).

According to the company’s website, Barckly is currently manufacturing and supplying “drilling bits, wellhead equipment, Christmas trees, and high pressure valves for several upstream projects in South Iran” and is manufacturing a firefighting platform for the Abouzar oil field development project (Barckly General Trading Company website, accessed June 13, 2014).

Deal:   According to Barckly’s website, the company received a contract for “an additional thirty-six units of CNG refueling stations by the Iranian Fuel Conservation Organization (IFCO)” in 2007.  The contract followed an earlier contract for 134 stations from IFCO. The stations were “aligned with the thrust of the IRI (Islamic Republic of Iran) to improve the country’s economy by creating some slack in demand for petroleum products by turning to alternative fuels.” Additionally, Barckly received a contract from IFCO to convert 125T vehicles into NGVs (Barckly Press Release, November 1, 2007). The current status of the project is not clear.
