Bayerngas

Germany

Date: April 2009 – 2010

Deal: In April 2009, Bayerngas signed a contract with the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) to assist in developing compressed natural gas (CNG) filling stations for cars in Iran, according to an Indian news source (Top News, April 16, 2009).

In March 2010, a German news source reported that Bayerngas had "shelved the development" of the CNG filling stations project as a result of international pressure and sanctions on Iran. The project aimed to construct 100 filling stations to provide 100,000 cars with CNG (Die Welt, March 10, 2010).

U.S. Business Ties: Bayerngas does not appear to have direct ties to businesses in the United States, and according to USASpending.gov, it has not received any U.S. government funding in the past 10 years (USASpending.gov, accessed July 27, 2010).
