Politics

  • Mohammad-Taqi Karrubi, son of Mehdi Karrubi, one of the leaders of the Green Movement, currently under house arrest, expressed his concern about the health of his father and Mir-Hossein Mousavi. 
  • Asr-e Iran released the list of former and current high ranking officials who attended the funeral service of ex-president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's mother. The list includes Ayatollah Shahroudi, Assembly of Experts deputy, Hossein Fereydoun, brother of President Hassan Rouhani, Parviz Fattah, energy minister under Ahmadinejad, Moslehi, former intelligence minister, and Davoudi, vice president. 

Economy

  • Tabnak refers to the so called "Swiss Leaks" affair claiming 573 Iranian nationals appear among tax dodgers at HSBC. According to Radio France, the total sum of the Iranian accounts is $1.5 billion, with a $254 million account as the single largest Iranian-owned account. 

Diplomacy

  • Mansour Chavoshi, Ambassador to Pyongyang, received the DPRK Foreign Minister in celebration of the anniversary of the revolution.

Military and Security

  • Major General Hassan Firouzabadi, Joint Force chief, commented on the developments in Yemen:
    • "As the revolutionaries are establishing themselves in the capital of Yemen, and with military, security and intelligence centers under the control of the revolutionary forces, the capital has become one of the safest places in the region. The behavior of the Americans, the British and the French smells of conspiracy. They are creating a deceptive atmosphere..." 
  • Major General Mohammad-Ali Jafari, IRGC chief commander, commented on Undersecretary David Cohen's statements on Iran having its "back against the wall" in the nuclear negotiations: "He was wrong in saying so and he will not do it again!"
