Energy Security
We are fighting a war in which we fund our own enemies. A percentage of the money Western motorists spend to fill their cars with gasoline goes to regimes and individuals who fund terrorist activities.
The United States can take steps to break the oil monopoly, encouraging a competitive market in transportation fuels, and giving consumers a choice at the pump.

The FDD Energy Security Project educates policymakers and the American public about the national security and environmental benefits of alternative fuels and other transportation innovations.
America must lead the world in implementing new technologies that use our domestic resources, as well as hybrids and electric vehicles.
FDD addresses these issues through its Committee on the Present Danger, whose co-chairman and FDD Chairman R. James Woolsey plays a leading role in the public debate on energy security.
FDD is also a member of the Set America Free Coalition, an organization of groups across the political spectrum, which Woolsey calls “a coalition of tree huggers, do-gooders, sodbusters, cheap hawks, and evangelicals.”
FDD’s Energy Security Project includes the work of Dr. Robert Zubrin, energy policy expert, former FDD fellow, and author of the book “Energy Victory: Winning the War on Terror by Breaking Free of Oil.”
