Date: February 2006 - Stalled

Deal: In November 2006, Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (LNG Ltd.) and the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) signed an agreement to develop the Selkh (Qeshm 4) and Southern Gesho (Gashu) gas fields, according to an industry publication (GEPS, accessed June 29, 2010).

The following day, LNG announced in a press release that the company's wholly-owned Iranian subsidiary, LNG International Qeshm Gas Limited (LNGIQ), partnering with Iran's Civil Pension Fund Investment Fund (CPFIC), had signed an agreement with NIOC to supply gas to its planned liquefied natural gas production project on Qeshm Island, Iran (LNG Ltd. News Release, November 8, 2006).

According to LNG's website, the project has stalled as the company has opted to devote all of its resources to its ongoing project in Queensland, Australia (LNG Website, accessed June 29, 2010).

Ties to U.S. Business: LNG Limited does not appear to have any business in the United States, and according to USASpending.gov, it has not received any U.S. government contracts (USASpending.gov, accessed July 9, 2014).
