Danger Zone to be Broadcast Internationally and in the US on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio

July 21, 2009 (Washington, D.C.) — Danger Zone, FDD's popular and respected radio show about terrorism, democracy and international security issues, now in its 5th year, will soon be carried by the global broadcaster World Radio Network (WRN) from London to a global audience and heard in the US and Canada twice a week on Sirius/XM satellite radio.

Beginning August 1st, 2009, Danger Zone will be carried through WRN on British Sky Radio in the United Kingdom and Ireland. WRN's WorldSpace Satellite Radio (Afristar) will carry Danger Zone throughout Asia and to dozens of countries in Africa. The audience reach is about 30 million people.

Danger Zone will also be carried in the United States through WRN's arrangement with Sirius/XM satellite radio. DZ will air every Saturday and Sunday morning on channel 140 on Sirius and channel 135 on XM at 10AM Eastern Standard Time (7AM in Los Angeles.) The audience for Sirius/XM in the US is about 9-million subscribers.

Danger Zone was created and is hosted by Dick Carlson, Vice Chairman of FDD. Carlson is a former newspaper and magazine writer and a former TV correspondent who was director of the Voice of America through the last five years of the Cold War. He is a former president and CEO of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and a retired US ambassador.

Danger Zone is co-hosted by Lt Colonel Bill Cowan, a retired US Marine special forces operator and Fox News contributor and Dr. Renee Garfinkel, a psychologist, writer and radio host for the Jerusalem Post.

Danger Zone is produced by Jay Garfinkel, former managing director of World Net TV and the USIA Film and Television Bureau. Jay is a former VP of programs for the NBC TV network and a radio and TV producer of many decades of experience. The show is recorded at the Christian Science Monitor radio studio in downtown Washington and broadcast from the World Radio Network studios in London
