German Members of Parliament Were Aboard Mavi Marmara

Two members of Germany's “post-communist” Left party, Inge Höger and Annette Groth, were on the Mavi Marmara last week and apparently used tax monies to fund their terror raid on Israel.

A third member of the German delegation was Norman Paech, the former Foreign Policy spokesman of the Left Party and a “human rights” lawyer. The Daily News reported on Paech's remarks at a press conference in Berlin, in which he claimed that “We had not prepared in any way to fight, we didn't even consider it.”

Yet Benjamin Kruger, a member of the Left Party, has said that Paech sees “Hamas as an ally of the Left Party.” Paech does not object to Iran obtaining nuclear weapons and has frequently compared Israel to Nazi Germany. He has compared the Israeli army to the Nazi-era German Wehrmacht and described Israel's 2006 conflict with Hezbollah as a “war of annihilation” against the civilian population in Lebanon. The phrase “war of annihilation” is used to describe what the Nazis did to European Jews in World War II.
