Iran President-Elect Promises Nuclear Transparency

Iran's president-elect Hasan Rohani is promising closer ties with the West during his term in power. He says relations with the US are an old wound that needs to be healed. But Mr Rohani insists Iran won't abandon its nuclear ambitions.

Mark Dubowitz: “He is a very adept and skilful nuclear negotiator who ran a rope-a-dope with the Europeans for a number of years, promising moderation, suspending enrichment because he feared US military pressure or US military intervention, while continuing to build up Iran's technical nuclear capacity.”
