Mohamed Dib Zaitoun

Position: Director of Political Security Directorate

Sanctions: US (May 20, 2011)

The United States government sanctioned Zaitoun on May 20, 2011 for his role in the Syrian regime’s continued violence against the Syrian people.[1]

He is a Sunni Muslim, and as the director of the Political Security Directorate, he is involved with surveillance of all organized political opposition, including parties and political publications.[2]
