Mojtaba Maleki

Title: Prosecutor of Kermanshah

Sanctions: European Union (October 10, 2011)

According to the Official Journal of the European Union, Mojtaba Maleki was sanctioned by the European Union for the dramatic increase in use of the death penalty at Kermanshah prison where he is a prosecutor.[1] Mojtaba Maleki was quoted in Payvand: “The Iranian judiciary is firm and unrelenting when dealing with crimes that disrupt the public peace and safety.” Maleki reportedly uses the death penalty as a warning to other criminals.[2]
