Iran, US Agree Only to Resume Their Talks Next Month
BAGHDAD—Global powers and Iran, under pressure to end an impasse over Tehran's nuclear program, agreed on one thing: to meet again, next month in Moscow.
The decision to hold a third round of negotiations over less than two months came after two exhaustive days of diplomacy here that at times appeared close to breaking down.
"Having held in-depth discussions with our Iranian counterparts over two days…It's clear that [both sides] want to make progress, and that there is some common ground," said Catherine Ashton, the European Union's foreign-policy chief, who led the international bloc. "However, significant differences remain."
