Deal: According to Pöyry’s website, the company was contracted by Tablieh Construction Company in 2003 to provide detailed engineering design of the Sharyar Dam, located on the Ghezel-Ozan River in northwest Iran (Pöyry PLC Website, accessed July 10, 2013).

Deal: According to Pöyry’s website, the Iranian Kayson Construction Company granted Electrowatt-Ekono Ltd, the former name of Jaakko Pöyry Group’s energy division, a €2.4 million contract in December 2003 to design the Siah Bishe pumped-storage scheme in Iran’s Elbrus Mountains. The project was Iran’s first concrete-faced dam and pumped-storage scheme. The project was expected to be completed in 2008 (Pöyry PLC Website, December 8, 2003). The current status of the project is not clear.

Date: July 2005 – Unclear

Deal: According to Pöyry’s website, the Isfahan Water Board awarded Electrowatt-Ekono an €800,000, 24-month contract in July 2005, to design and prepare tender documents for a double curved arch dam in Iran’s Zagross Mountains. The project was expected to take 24 months to complete (Pöyry PLC Website, July 1, 2005). The current status of the project is not clear.

Deal: According to Pöyry’s website, the Iranian state-owned Water and Power Corporation granted Electrowatt-Ekono Ltd. a €1.2 million contract in August 2005 to review the feasibility study and tender design of the Bakhtyari hydropower scheme in southwest Iran. The scheme included plans for a 315 meter arch dam and a 1,200 megawatt power plant (Pöyry PLC Website, August 5, 2005). The current status of the project is not clear.

Date: 2006 - 2010

Deal: According to Pöyry’s website, Pöyry was contracted by the Tablieh-Parhoon Tarh Joint Venture to provide hydropower consultancy services for the Seymareh hydropower plant in southwest Iran. The company will provide engineering design and drawing preparation (Pöyry PLC Website, accessed July 2, 2014).

Date: 2007 - 2009

Deal: According to Pöyry’s website, Pöyry was tasked with designing new low level outlets at the Dez Dam in Khuzestan Province in order to provide sustainable reservoir sediment management for the Khuzestan Water and Power Authority Company (KWPA). The services it provided included a feasibility study and detailed design (Pöyry PLC Website, accessed July 2, 2014).

Deal: According to Pöyry’s website, Iran’s SEPASAD Engineering Company awarded Pöyry a €7 million contract in June 2007 for engineering services on the Rudbar-e-Lorestan hydropower dam in the Zagros Mountains. The project included a 180 meter concrete dam with an estimated 228 million cubic meter gross capacity (Pöyry PLC Website, June 18, 2007).

According to SEPASAD’s website, the Rudbar-e-Lorestan project is still ongoing (SEPASAD Engineering Company Website, May 23, 2013).
