Reza Taghipour

Position: Minister for Information & Communications

Sanctions: European Union (March 23, 2012)

In March 2012, the European Union sanctioned Reza Taghipour for committing serious violations of human rights in Iran. The Official Journal of the European Union reported that in his position as Minister of Information, Taghipour was responsible for extreme instances of censorship within Iran, and distributing personal information of detainees to interrogators.[1]
