Deal: SNC-Lavalin served as an engineering design sub-contractor in the Iranian Gas Trunk Line (IGAT) V Project in the South Pars gas field beginning in October 2004, according to the project website. A Canadian news source reported that as recently as July 2010, SNC-Lavalin had been awarded new contracts with businesses in the U.S., and the company has a significant presence in the U.S. alternative fuel sector (CNW, July 10, 2010). In addition, the company has worked with ExxonMobil in the U.S. for more than 50 years; it currently has a contract with ExxonMobil's Baytown facility "for studies and engineering, procurement and construction management services," according to SNC-Lavalin's 2009 annual report (SNC-Lavalin 2009 Annual Report, December 31, 2009).
