Deal: According to an Indian news source, in 2003, the Petroiran Development Company awarded Welspun-Gujarat Stahl Rohren a $52 million contract to construct an oil pipeline for the Persian Gulf Salman Oil and Gas Field Integrated Development project in Iran. (Construction World - Indian Edition, August 2003).

Deal: In 2003, the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) placed a $50 million pipeline order with Welspun-Gujarat Stahl Rohren for Iran's IGAT-IV project that will transport gas from South Pars and other sites to consumers, according to an Indian news publication (The Financial Express, June 26, 2003).

Date: 2006

Deal: In 2006, Welspun-Gujarat Stahl Rohren received an order from Iran for pipes valued at Rs 200 crore (approximately $42 million), according to an Indian news source (Financial Times, November 6, 2006). It not clear what Iranian company placed the order.

U.S. Business Ties: Welspun-Gujurat Stahl Rohren's website states that the company maintains two offices in the United States. One is a joint venture, Welspun U.S.A. Inc., a home textiles company located in New York City; and the other is a subsidiary, Welspun Tubular, LLC, a pipe company located in Little Rock, Arkansas (Welspun Company Website, accessed July 6, 2010).

Welspun-Gujarat Stahl Rohren has also done business with U.S. companies Kinder Morgan, Texas Gas, Hunt Oil, Elpaso, and ExxonMobil, according to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA, April 25, 2010).

According to USASpending.gov, Welspun-Gujarat Stahl Rohren appears not to have received any contracts from the U.S. government (USASpending.gov, accessed August 20, 2014).
