FDD Experts and Conference Calls

Every day brings news that makes headlines and leads the nightly newscasts, yet traditional news sources only skim the surface. Get the full story and understand its implications for you and our nation's security. As a policy institute with broad expertise on the issues that concern you most, FDD will provide you with access to FDD's veritable brain trust of experts in foreign affairs, public policy, democracy-building, and counterterrorism.

  • Through exclusive dial-in access, you can participate in our regularly scheduled conference calls conducted by FDD experts on timely and pertinent issues in the war on terror.
  • An open invitation to visit FDD's office to meet our scholars and senior staff members

Invitation to FDD's Annual Washington Forum

As a trustee you will also receive an invitation for you and a guest to attend FDD's Washington Forum, a three day discussion on select issues pertinent to the war against terrorism and the fight for democracy.

Washington Forum 2011 will feature:

  • Members of Congress from both sides of the aisle describing how they are working behind the scenes to thwart the Iranian nuclear program.
  • Leading reporters from top international outlets asking experts tough questions about Middle East issues, including the impact of the Arab spring on Israel's relations with its neighbors, the efficacy of sanctions against Iran, and whether the U.S. is safer ten years after 9/11.
  • Rare first-hand insight into the Obama administration's position on diverse national security issues. Last year, the New York Times covered Gary Samore's (President Obama's non-proliferation czar) announcement at Washington Forum that the U.S. and its allies planned a new round of Iran sanctions to press the country to halt its nuclear program.
  • Invitation-only opportunities for our supporters. Last year, Pakistan's ambassador to the U.S. hosted VIPs at his residence for an intimate dinner, and the previous year we were privileged to have dinner with Israel's Ambassador to the U.S. Michael Oren. We guarantee we'll have equally memorable opportunities this year.
  • Special hotel rates and tour rates for out-of-town guests. To learn how you can take advantage of these opportunities, and to participate in the VIP events, please contact Kristen at WashingtonForum@defenddemocracy.org or 202.403.2920

You will meet leading experts from different aspects of the policy community including Members of Congress, ambassadors and diplomats, defense and intelligence officials, and FDD's experts and scholars.

Venture Philanthropy

An FDD trustee makes a real difference in the battle against radical Islam by working with us as a venture philanthropist.

You can specify that your donation (and the support of others who share your enthusiasm) benefit a new FDD project or an existing one that addresses your vital concern.

With the assistance of our supporters, we have incubated a number of different projects that are achieving real and measurable results.
